Hi, my name is Michelle and I want to personally thank you for stopping by. This site is dedicated to everything golf, with a focus on golf for the left handed person. You probably have figured out by now that I am a left handed golfer. But what you might not know is that I swing a tennis racket right handed, throw a ball right handed, bowl right handed, and write right handed. I golf left handed, swing a bat left handed, and eat left handed. So now you know something else about me! I am a very confused person! Or I am extremely talented depending on your vantage point.
I am totally, hopelessly, enthusiastically addicted to golf. There are very few things I would rather be doing then playing, practicing, watching or talking about golf. I bet you think that I am good at the game. Truth be told, I am a high handicap golfer. With an emphasis on high handicap. Golf is the one area in my life that I am not a perfectionist about, and I totally understand that I have no control over my game. Playing golf is the only activity I do where I am totally present, and engaged. I think of nothing else but the shot at hand. The game keeps me sane. Now how many golfers can say that?
Being left handed does have its disadvantages. Such as a very limited selection, or no selection of left handed golf equipment for sale at golf shops. ( Ahhh, maybe this is why I am left handed. So I cannot spend all of my money on golf equipment, and golf training aides.) Most of the training videos are made for the right handed golfer and I have not mastered the skill of translating from right handnesse to left handnesse. Geez, the game is hard enough without trying to watch something, then reversing it and duplicating it. Not even Phil Mickelson could do that. He is really a right handed person impersonating a left handed golfer. He was simply mirroring his father’s golf swing lesson when he was first learning how to play the game.
My goal is to let you know where to get great equipment, training aids, videos, books, you name it for the left handed golfer. But by visiting this site often I know you will meet many nice, like-minded golfers. I hope that you have fun, learn a few things, and share your stories about the awesome game of golf. And if you are right handed, that’s o.k. You are welcome here as well! We know how it feels to be left out!
